New Episodes "Tall" and "Roommate"
"Roommate" - Derek is kicked out of his mama's house for being disrespectful. He gets his own place and lets Josh move in with him. But he discovers having Josh for a roommate is not as fun as he thought. My wife actually came up with the story for this one. We both agreed that Derek should get his own episode. He has grown so much as a character that you can't hate the guy. In fact, he's become a fan favorite. Also featuring the voice of my aunt as Derek's mama. I think it was easy for her to play this role since her son is a little similar to Derek, just a little bit.
Easter Eggs
Did you notice that a lot of movies have easter eggs, or little hidden messages or whatever? Usually like a shout out to something else or an inside joke. I didn't realize until today (because I'm so slow) that I've been doing that for years. So if you're a fan of most of my work (and I'm sooooo sure you are) here's some things you might notice.
HYPE FORCE
HF was my first show. Its where I really learned how to film because I make sooooo many mistakes through out the show. I ended it a few months before I started Josh's Journal. But I give it a few shout outs in my other projects.
-In Josh's Journal "Anime" there is a picture of Mystic Ninja (from HF) standing next to Anna's grandpa in the background of his house.
-In BLUE & GOLD 4th season, they meet Black Jack and Ace in a Walking Dead parody.
-In Josh's Journal "Superpals" Melvin says they should call their super team the Hype Force. Josh says that's a stupid name but under his breath says to use it for later.
-In Josh's Journal "Movie Hop" there's a HF movie poster in the back.
-Hancock has the same voice and attitude as Black Jack from HF. The same with Nightwing being Kick from HF.
FOX
-In Josh's Journal "Movie Hop" a Fox & Turtle poster is in the background.
-In Josh's Journal "Pretty Ugly" One of the kids at the ugly table is Wolf.
-In Josh's Journal "Kid Show" there's a pig puppet and a skunk puppet (Stank).
ACTORS
-Every time Malcolm Phillips is in my videos, his character slaps somebody.
-Keith Govan never voices his own character based off him but usually a different character in the same episode.
-My mom only did one voice and it was a robin bird and Robin is her first name.
-Every time travel episode the character Malique appears. If it takes place in the past, the real Malique does a voice.
-Both of my kids first voice debut was as themselves in Josh's Journal "Birthday".
That's all I can think of. I'm sure there's more.
Just Wanna Make You Smile
Whenever I get online I tend to get caught up in reading what's going on in folk's lives. Some are sad, some are happy, some problems, some blessings. Sometimes I think I see more sad things than the happy ones. I usually feel someone's pain when they are going thru something. Sometimes I relate a lot because I went thru the exact thing myself. It really hurts me to see someone hurting no matter who you are. I believe God gave me the gift to entertain for this very reason. For some reason, no matter what, I have the urge to make you smile. It makes my day whenever I am able to make someone laugh with something I did. I realized a while ago that we are here for each other, not for ourselves. I don't make videos for myself. In fact I don't even get paid for it. Its just something I've been doing for free all my life. And I will continue to do so as long I have breath in my lungs.
UPDATE 6/6/2014
Just wanted to update everyone (or that one actual guy that reads my posts) on what's going on right now. I'm doing a few things differently than I usually do every year at this time. Every year I work on my youtube series "BLUE & GOLD."Click here for BLUE & GOLD season 4 I left the season finale on a cliff hanger. I decided to push the show back until the end of the year. For the summer I really want to concentrate on my original series, "FOX PREVIEWS LIFE" and "JOSH'S JOURNAL". I've been slacking on JJ the most and its the most important to me. Its the one show that actually been on tv and in film festivals. Plus I put my heart and soul into it.
I will finish up FPL as quickly as I can with season 3 episodes. I'm thinking only about 6 to 8 episodes and about 4 more trailers with an awesome season finale trailer. I will also start it up again with season 4 premiere with another Star Wars episode. Dvds for the show will be coming soon for that.
I will be putting together a season 2 and season 3 dvd for JJ. I made the season 1 dvd like 3 years ago, so the other dvds are long overdue. I am currently working on scripts for about 3 episodes and will be filming for the most part of June and July. My plan is to have at least 3 episodes done by the end of the summer. Once that is accomplished, I can bring back the other smaller web series you guys love so much.

Sacramento Comic Con
Sacramento Comic Con 2014
So when I heard that Comic Con was coming to Sacramento, I was overly excited. I had been planning to go to a Comic Con every since I was little. Think I would grow out of that but of course not. I was teased for being a nerd but now I am proud to be one. When I heard there was a film festival, I figure I try it out to see what happens. Then tons of good news happened. Not only did my film get accepted into the festival, I received 2 free 3 day whole entire weekend passes to Comic Con if I do an interview about my film afterwards. I was on cloud 9 when all this happened. Not only I get to go to Comic Con for free, but as a special guest for something I love doing.
Friday March 7th
I chose an episode from Josh's Journal called Power Troopers. It has some bad green screen effects but I chose it because of the different voice actors, studio recordings, and blend of animation and puppetry. When I arrived at Comic Con, I was able to get my wife and kids in at no charge (skipped the line because we're VIP). We walk around for a little bit to check things out, then head towards the film festival. There were some really nice enjoyable films. I've seen quite a few independent films which were usually boring and bland, but these were oddly entertaining. So much so, that I started to get a little embarrassed when it was time for mine to play. They played this film that look so nice visually. There was no dialoge but nice effects and acting that only depended on face expressions. I started thinking to myself "please don't call my film out next". Then he (the m.c. for the festival, Jeff) said' "Next film we have is called Josh's Journal The Power Troopers. Is Josh here? Would you like to give an intro about your film?" I'm thinking, CRAP. I give a long explanation what my show is about. Won't do that anymore. Sometimes short is better. Should've said "Josh notices a new team of superheroes in town." Then let the rest explain itself. Once it appeared on screen, I started getting embarrassed because as an artist you are taught to hate your old stuff. And I did Power Troopers about 4 years ago. I could see every little mistake on the big screen. BUT strangers were enjoying it. Not only that, people were coming in and sitting down watching it. It felt like a full house which didn't make me feel good because I knew I had to get in front of all these folks and explain myself. But they really truly enjoyed it. There was a nice applause once the credits rolled. Then I got up to do the Q & A. Boy was I nervous and it showed. But it was a learning experience. Luckily I was prepared for the questions and didn't get stumped. And it was cool to see people actually interested in my stuff since I was getting questions like "How many episodes do you have? or Where can we find more of it?" I was soooooooo relieved after it was done. So glad it was the first night and not the last, BUT I would had known how to do the questionnaire better.
After that, we were leaving the hotel where the festival was taken place when suddenly I saw Billy Dee Williams going into the restroom. I told my wife who I saw and I had to go to the restroom of course. Went in there, did what I had to do, then started washing my hands. Billy Dee walks right up beside me and I see him thru the mirror. He smiles and says "How you doing?" I say "I'm good, how are you doing tonight, sir?" He says, "Oh, I'm doing fine." BUT HE SAYS IT SO SMOOTH just like in the movies. I manage to not act so star struck. I'm not even nervous (like I was when I saw Denzel Washington). So I said to him (because we both know I know who he is) "You're not getting too harassed by the fans are you?" He says "Oh, no. Not at all. I love this kind of thing." Then we wish each other a good evening, I hold the door for him, he thanks me, and went on his way. After that, EVERYBODY in the lobby recognizes him. That experience made my life, I mean night.

We get to Comic Con at 11:30am but don't find a good parking spot until 11:45am, in which I could've saved money if I just went to the parking garage in the first place. We go to the one on one sessions with certain celebrities. First one we see is Michael Rosebaum and he is hilarious. He is very energetic and instead of sitting on the stage answering questions from far away, he is in your face interacting with the audience. I always thought that he was the best Lex Luther and best Flash. I take the kids around to take pictures with the different folks in cosplay. There are like some really really nice ones. My daughter created her own costume making herself Catwoman. I mean she makes the cat ears and the mask all by herself. This girl already surpasses me in art and creativity. I manage to see a few celebrities at their booths. The bigger ones you can't even get near because of the crowd so huge. I only get a slight glimpse of Norman Reedus. All the other Walking Dead folks, barely a line. So I run to my car and get my sketchbook and get Michael Rooker to sign the picture I drew of him (Meryl from Walking Dead). He smiles when he sees the picture and signs it, and shakes my hand (the hand that was cut off on the show). He speaks to my kids but they are so quiet and shy. We walk up to Michael Rosenbaum's booth since the crowd died down. I make the kids wave at him since they know him as the Flash. The 2nd time I walk up to him, I talk to him myself. I told him I really enjoyed his one on one session and that his was probably the best. He thanked me and told me that I better be at the other one, but he didn't know what time it will be. It was awesome talking with him trying to figure out if and when he was doing another one. 2nd celebrity to have a conversation with this weekend. Later we got to see James Marsters talk to the crowd, then William Shatner which was a HUGE crowd, and finally Bruce Campbell who was sooooo hilarious. It was such a trip seeing all these people in person. Looking forward to meeting more tomorrow. Looking at all the different booths was very encouraging. I have a certain art that most folks don't do and I should really show it off more. Maybe even have my own booth to display it.

The last day of Comic Con wasn't as good as the other days because of the crowd. I didn't get a chance to meet any actors but I did get to shake hands with Neal Adams (Comic book artist). One of the artist for The Simpsons was one no one could get to, everyone else were easy enough. I spent most of my time there watching one on ones with the bigger celebrities. We got to see Jon Bernthal (Walking Dead, Grudge Match, Wolf on Wall Street), then of course Stan Lee, then Chris Hemsworth. The lines outside were crazy. I couldn't even get in a line to get an autograph from Stan Lee. Maybe next year I hope. Over all my experience there will be unforgettable and I will make sure I am always apart of things like this.

Out with the Old
A lot has happened to me in the past couple of weeks. So much that it feels as if I traveled into another dimension but I don't like it at all. Basically someone broke into my car and stole my backpack containing my laptop, external hard drive, iphone, mp3 player, sketchbook, a Batman pocket knife, and a TMNT comic book. I was so hurt and felt destroyed when I saw what happened. And right outside of a comic book store of all places. Everything I was working on was gone. I had nothing left. My wife was very disappointed, probably more so than me. She stopped sleeping next to me and did not even want to touch me. I thought what she was doing was terrible but now I completely understand. I was already upset with myself before I even told her what happened. I had to stop and step outside of myself to see what was going on. All the things I see in common were all comic book related, childish, and selfish things involved. Right then I saw that I need to grow the fuck up. My wife does not want to be with a boy, and I cannot be a boy in his thirties. It was cute when I was in my twenties but now I am a head of a household with 3 people depending on me. Of course I pay the bills with no problem but being a man takes more than that.
I look at my late father and saw how he was. He of course enjoyed certain childish things like anybody else but he never let it overwhelm him which was exactly what I was letting happen to me. I have to do what it takes to grow up especially if I could ever get my wife back. I realized that I have to change myself for myself not just for her otherwise I will never change. The easiest thing I am giving up is comic books. It is not a problem because I actually went my entire twenties without collecting or reading them. Only have been doing that recently. The big thing to give up is buying stuff for myself, mainly action figures. If it is embarrassing to admit to people that I do that then I shouldn't be doing that at all. It is a small start but I feel that it will be a major change. I will replace that void with strengthen my relationship with God. Without Him, I will not be better.

So, this week I realized that I have been putting aside my most important project, JOSH'S JOURNAL. I don't know exactly why I've been doing this, laziness or unmotivated, maybe a little of both. JJ requires so much of my time that I have to pretty much put my entire life on hold. And that may be the problem. In my life, I am a husband and father first. Everything else is secondary. But JJ feels like a child that I'm neglecting. Since it is not a real child, I concentrate on providing for my family and doing whatever needs to be done for them. After their needs are met I look towards JOSH'S JOURNAL, but I am so tired by then that I just don't want to do it.
The other thing is that JOSH'S JOURNAL became more work than fun. I know I'm not only filming to have fun. I am doing this to tell my story to help those (mainly young teens) in similar situations as my teen character, Josh. Since it is not as fun as it use to be, I jump onto other projects mainly to entertain myself. FOX PREVIEWS LIFE became my main focus because it comes from a lot of events from my adult life where as JOSH'S JOURNAL is only based on my childhood. FPL is much shorter and does not need extra work like storyboards, outlines, or props. It only has a short script and not too many other voice actors. JOSH'S JOURNAL on the other hand has grown so much that it is not that much different from a network tv show. In fact, the main difference between JJ and a network show would be that they have tons of people all working on the show and we have about 3.
I have decided to spend the next month completely dedicated to JOSH'S JOURNAL. Overall no matter how I look at it, this is my fault for slacking on it. I put aside more than a months worth of shows ready for my fans to watch so that I don't have to work on anything else other than JJ. I may get distracted if I do anything else. So Get Ready for the Return of JOSH'S JOURNAL coming this fall.

I've been thinking about this one
person lately. I used to work with
him and he was one of the worst
people I ever met. Everything he ever
said was inappropriate and offensive.
He even admitted that he was a little
racist. So me and the other guys
would pick on him sometimes, mainly
to get back at him. Eventually we
would feel bad for him when we saw
that he was really upset. But he
never cared when he offended or
upset any of us.
So now it is getting closer to the
time I may have to work with him
again. And sad to say is that I am
looking forward to it. Lately I've
been feeling like I need someone to
let all my anger out on. I'm the
kind of guy that doesn't go off on
people. When I do get upset, I can't
go off on anyone, customers, bosses,
etc; except maybe co workers. SO I
can't wait to see this guy again just
so I can let it all out and use him
as my punching bag. I don't want to
show him any mercy like I did last
year. Everytime someone pisses me off
and I can't do anything about it, I
want to let him have it. I want to
see him get offended. I want to see
him cry. I want to ruin his day. I
don't care. People do that to me all
the time without a care in the world
and he was one of them. I know its
wrong, but why can't I have someone I
can pick on? People have been doing

BLOG 8-29
So, I am currently working on several projects at the moment. I'm trying to get as much done as possible before I will start working full time at a warehouse for the entire winter season. FOX PREVIEWS LIFE is on my main agenda for the moment. It is the only project I have with a premiere date. I am trying to get as much of it done as possible so I could just upload it every week with no problem. I had the tendency in the past to finish a video the day before I have it scheduled. FOX will have two parts: the previews, and the show itself. I am also working on a few parodies as well which includes: X-men, TMNT, and Scooby Doo. These shows are not as important but just to keep my viewers interested. I have a few READYBOY shorts in the making just so I can practice more on my animation. I want Readyboy to return in November but we will see what happens. And last but definitely not least is JOSH'S JOURNAL. I am currently working on the 4th season. Just like FOX, I want to have a few episodes under my belt before I start releasing them. Plus it makes things easier when I need the voice actors to send me their lines. They can send me more than one episode so I can have it all finished at once.
My success has been making shorter videos, animations, and linking more popular videos to my other videos.
I failed to keep up with a set schedule but am still working on a way to discipline myself.
